 Same issue here. Setting my status to 'Mobile' with an away message
 doesn't mark me as 'mobile' when I view my main screenname from a
 secondary one. However, when I go Offline in status dropdown or close
 Pidgin altogether, I will be marked as mobile because I also have
 configured that in AIM6.
