Comment:

 Either you messed up the log when you truncated it or something was going
 wrong, at no point in those log files are you sending an online presence
 and at no point are you getting presence about any of your buddies from
 the server. It looks like your buddy list never actually finishes being
 retrieved. You need to look for the end of the iq:roster query 'get'. If
 you don't see it in your logs then something is wrong and the server isn't
 finishing sending you the roster.
