Comment:

 This doesn't happen to me at all (I don't have Vista) - I have English,
 Greek and German languages installed and don't have any sort of switching
 unless I use the key combination.

 I can only suggest that you look at the hotkeys that are defined for this
 and make sure they aren't a combination that you might be hitting by
 mistake.

 If not, see if you can identify some sort of pattern for when the language
 changes.

 This almost certainly isn't something related to Pidgin, it would be a
 GTK+ issue if anything.
