Comment:

 We've minimalized the formatting bar with 2.1.0.

 I'm guessing you use "Small list" and don't see the analogue between the
 status selector and the buddy list node. The status selector provides an
 appropriate place to set your status and buddy icon; it takes only 32px in
 height.

 I may consider making it smaller if you're in "Small list," but we tend to
 discourage inconsistency.
