Comment:

 I've taken a look at the existing code and it appears like it'll be fine.
 My code is somewhat more elegant, at the expense of being more "clever". I
 don't see any reason to swap in my code at this point.

 The issues relating to getting and setting this information via DBus, etc.
 can be determined later and are really outside the scope of this ticket.
