 Well, it shouldn't flow into the icon, obviously, but into the free space
 left by the absence of an icon.

 I believe truncated names are a greater threat to scannability, as
 arbitrarily truncated words tend to take slightly longer to read/identify.

 The icon is a great visual cue, but I think it should be handled as a
 floating addition - when it is there, the text flow accomodates to it, but
 in its absence, the text takes priority.
