 They certainly will, if they're that long. How is that justification for
 cutting them even shorter?

 If I disable the "show buddy details" option to get a more compact buddy
 list, the "not authorized" icon similarly causes buddy names to be cut of,
 but those without that icon still utilize the full window width. Why is
 this different?
