 I hit this too when I'm using Sloppy Focus.

 It's GTK+ that removes the focus from the Edit field when the window loses
 focus. Can you think of any good work-around? I'm tempted to leave it as-
 is and assume people smart enough to appreciate sloppy focus will be able
 to figure out what's going on.

 I don't know.
