 I am also having a similar problem.  I use a program called UltraMon,
 which basically stretches your taskbar across dual screen setups, as well
 as let you have different wallpapers, screensavers, etc...  Just recently,
 I'd say the version before last I believe of Pidgin, when I lock then
 unlock my screen I notice that part of my window in unusable.  I can drag
 stuff over that part of the screen, but when I maximize a window it won't
 cover that frame, and my desktop icons aren't displayed in that frame.  I
 noticed that the frame is the exact size of my Pidgin window when it's
 docked.  I can recover use of that part of the screen by either rebooting,
 or if I dock then undock pidgin I get use of the entire screen back.  It
 should be noted that I dont use the docking function at all.  Thanks.
