 Here is how to provide excellent assistance to a user in need:

 1. Forego the urge to tell the user to go somewhere else
 2. Go to http://plugins.guifications.org/trac/
 3. If you do not yet have an account, register for one now
 4. Create a new bug.  You might make the subject of it "Pidgin user
 requesting help with locating binary for a plugin"
 5. Add the user's email address to the cc list for the bug
 6. Inform the user that although you are not the party responsible for the
 plugin, you have submitted a request for help on their behalf

 You may feel free to update your process with this suggestion.  Or, you
 might not.
