 I have ICQ with ms windos at the office and I am using Pidgin 2.2.0 on a
 Lunux Debian 2.6.22-2-686 at home (unstable apt sources).
 I have organized my pidgin into different groups, and I am using an
 account on ICQ, one on Google, one on MSN Messenger and the last one on
 Yahoo. One of those groups is called "Compañeros de trabajo", when I start
 a new session on pidgin it shows two groups, one called "Compañeros de
 trabajo" and the second "Compañeros de trabajo". Under "Compañeros de
 trabajo" are grouped only my ICQ contacts that fall on that category;
 under "Compañeros de trabajo" I have the ICQ contacts and all the other
 account contacts. I can modify the name and edit the group called
 "Compañeros de trabajo" but not the "Compañeros de trabajo" one. I tried
 deleting the group "Compañeros de trabajo" and pidgin deletes that group
 temporarily. If I restart Pidgin the two groups show up again.
 I think it is a problem related with the locales in spanish only for the
 ICQ module, but i am not sure since I am not familiar with your code.
