 I use the --author flag on mtn when I commit translations for two reasons

 1)other than the short blurb in the changelog, all of the content is
 yours.  You should get credit.
 if someone really needs to know who actually ran mtn ci, they can look at
 the key anyway.
 2)When I'm looking to see who last worked on a translation, and given that
 the headers on the translations are inconsistently updated AND given that
 at times I (or other developers) have failed to update the
 pidgin/gtkdialogs.c, I can look at the last commit's author.

 I try to split updates to the po files from changes to configure.ac or
 pidgin/gtkdialogs.c so that I get blamed for any breakage.
