#3365: pidgin duplicates groups with utf-8 japanese names in a wrong encoding
(escaped raw bytes?)

 Reporter: pH5 | Type: defect
   Status: new | Priority: minor
Component: libpurple | Version: 2.2.0
 Keywords: utf-8 escaping | Pending: 0
----------------------------+-----------------------------------------------
Since I upgraded my Debian pidgin packages to 2.2.0 pidgin shows the
 following behaviour:
I have a group named "友達" (UTF-8) in my .purple/blist.xml. When pidgin is
loaded, it displays that group and an additional copy of this group named
"友達", which is also saved to blist.xml.
