Comment:

 The Friendly Name is, per name-definition of this page, the nickname
 people decide on for themselves and the Alias is the nickname they give
 other people.[[BR]][[BR]]
 There are People who change their Friendly Name every now and then. By
 giving these people an Alias you don't see that change, by letting them
 without Alias you don't really know who is who.[[BR]][[BR]]
 So my idea (it's not really mine) is to be able to tell Pidgin to always
 append the current Friendly Name to the Alias[[BR]]
 or checking the Alias for %s or whatever and replace that by the current
 Friendly Name.[[BR]]
 Like[[BR]]

 Alias: "John Miller - %s"[[BR]]
 Friendly Name: "Superman"[[BR]]
 Pidgin shows: "John Miller - Superman"[[BR]]

 or[[BR]]

 Alias: "John Miller | %s"[[BR]]
 Friendly Name: "depressed guy"[[BR]]
 Pidgin shows: "John Miller - depressed guy"[[BR]]
