 The last patch I uploaded has not yet been applied. It will be posted on
 this ticket when it has been, but I do not believe any of the patches
 "fix" the problem your friend seems to be having.

 There's a few things I'm curious about though. Is your friend using the
 MSNP14 version of MSN which has yet to be activated by default? If not,
 none of my patches should have affected it. If they are using the MSNP14
 version of MSN, when they log in using a pretty recent version of the
 official MSN Live client, do they see the same users as mobile as they do
 with my patches? I can understand if they don't have access to an official
 client.

 My assumption is that these users, as you say, aren't in fact online, at
 least not with any messenger. They're showing up as mobile because of a
 new feature of which Pidgin has previously not supported, which is sending
 a message to a contact's mobile phone you have set (provided it's a
 supported mobile number). So any users that have a supported mobile number
 set in your friend's contact list should show up as mobile.
