Those tickets do in fact cover this, the only way pidgin is going to get
one-password-to-rule-them-all support is through the use of a real
keyring. Unless you ticket here is asking for the ability to type in a
password once and use that same password for multiple accounts that covers
you, it even covers that case though it would store the password for each
account separately. While I do see the inconvenience of needing to type
the same password multiple times I'm not sure that this partial solution
is really the right answer (especially because it will break horribly if
you ever change the password for a single account, fixably broken but
broken nonetheless).
