 I did an update using yum update right before running this. Since Purple
 and Pidgin don't exist on CPAN (see my previous ticket) the only way to
 get them seems to be through yum, up2date or by doing a source build. I
 also had a problem with a source build.

 I am using centos 4
 2.6.9-42.0.3.EL #1 Fri Oct 6 05:59:54 CDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
