 I changed the buffer size of my revised patch back to the doubled size you
 had it at and added a comment. I don't believe I changed anything
 functionally apart from the buffer size and if I did change anything else
 it was accidental. It might be a good idea for you to test it again just
 in case, but apart from that I think it's good to go.
