 Hi Deryni

 I reinstalled 2.4.1 and tried all the permutation you have suggested.
 There seems to be a problem with the way Pidgin is managing the user
 accounts between 2.3.1 and 2.4.1 (2.4 not tested) I tried all of the
 permutation you suggested accept the changing the password without
 success. I then reinstalled 2.3.1 and this time I could not connect with
 gmail. I reentered my password and the login was successful. I reinstalled
 2.4.1 and again could not connect. This time I reentered my password
 without making any changes and gmail connected.
