From what I've read, there is a Send button hidden, and it becomes visible
when a Keyboard is not present - so the code is already in there.
How would one do a plugin for this? Something that tries to enable the
buried code, or something that creates a new Send button from scratch?
Most people that use Pidgin are not developers. We can't just whip up some
code to create a plugin to put something back that was taken away from us.
Gaim use to have a Send button, but it has since been removed, and now the
developers have told us that if we want it back, it's up to us to learn
how to put it back. It's like a parent taking a toy away from their child
and then telling the child they have to get a job and earn money if they
want the toy back that they already had. Why take it away in the first
place?
Is there anywhere we could look for help on making a plugin to enable the
Send button? Where would we start? The "How-To" pages would look like
moon-language to most people. I've looked at the Pidgin source, and the
number of references to a "Send" function is overwhelming. I wouldn't know
which C file to check first.
