 I noticed that there is a way to make pidgin portable, as cited in the
 FAQ,
 http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/Using%20Pidgin#RunningWindowsPidginFromaUSBDrivePortableMode
 and there is a simple batch script for simplifying the process here http
 ://portabilly-tea.blogspot.com/2008/01/pidgin-portable-again.html that
 works with an installation of pidgin on one's computer.

 But why not just give a 'Portable install" option in the official
 installer? Since it is already in pidgin to be portable why not? Just make
 the installer rename pidgin.exe to pidgin-portable.exe and follow the
 directory structure you outlined in the FAQ.
