 I put a link for the protocol at
 http://imfreedom.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page but from what I could tell
 of the license (I asked a few developers as well) the documentation isn't
 compatible with the GPL and couldn't be used by Pidgin.  You could ask
 around some more and see what a lawyer says or contact Mail.ru and ask
 them to use a more compatible license so it could be used in Pidgin.  Good
 luck either way :)
