 When using Ctrl+F to search the buddy list, or just by typing when the
 buddy list window is active, the search entry box will appear.  However,
 it freezes up after one character is entered, and any pidgin windows
 including the buddy list, conversations, and preferences windows will all
 freeze and become unresponsive.  This lasts for several seconds, until the
 search box disappears.

 Using 2.4.1 on Windows XP
