Comment (by mlsterben):
Hey now, I tried being diplomatic. If you use your browsers Find function,
you'll see that I was the third person to post and started out very level-
headed. Then as the days rolled on I grew less interested and more annoyed
simply by all the e-mails. (I ''still'' haven't figured out how to disable
those)
Now I'm just tired and cranky. Finals are coming close and seeing every
developer whine in his own unique way is getting old. After the little
bitch move called "wontfix" I have determined that no matter what anybody
says or does at this point is irrelevant and inconsequential. I'm happily
using the 2.4.0 fork at the moment that lets me choose the size I want.
But anywho, if you want me to get on topic, fine.
I am a scientist and a writer. Because I am known as a notorious grammar
Nazi, many of my friends turn to me to edit the spelling, sentence
structure, et cetera in their papers. The fastest way they always figure
is to send the whole essay over IM. This takes up quite a bit of space and
when I need to edit large portions at a time, I need a large window. It's
that exact situation where I want to make the input box take up 90% of the
screen. As far as science goes, I need to put in chemical equations.
Because GAIM has limitations as far as sub- and superscript go, a LOT of
extra characters are needed. For example, glucose has to be written "C_6
H_12 O_6." This gets lengthy. Two lines are too little and I want to see
the '''whole''' equation at once, without having to scroll.
Are you happy now, Ionic? In addition, Hobbified made me laugh. After
reading that sentence from Ionic I was thinking about all the animals out
in nature that will attack indiscriminately, such as army ants, jellyfish,
or tigers. (Tigers are territorial, but meh. They don't like it when you
get in their turf)
