 I noticed that when you set up portable pidgin as lined out in the faq
 http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/Using%20Pidgin#RunningWindowsPidginFromaUSBDrivePortableMode
 I noticed that even though the .purple directory is save neatly in the
 parent dir to the Pidgin, GTK, And Aspell dirs, GTK is overlooked so files
 relating to the GTK do not migrate over from machine to machine. Rather, a
 set of GTK config files are saved on each machine the user runs the
 official Portable Pidgin.
 I made a quick work around by changing the %userprofile% environment
 variable for pidgin in portable mode.

 I noticed it did a lot more than just redirect the path to the GTK-
 bookmarks file, but a couple other files as well.

 If Pidgin when called as pidgin-portable can use a different location for
 the .purple  settings, then why not the GTK settings as well.
