 This is in a way related to #5452.[[BR]]

 The option in the preference refers to Conversations between two persons -
 not to chats!
 [[BR]]

 For Windows there is an additional option in the windprefs-Plugin to
 flash, too, when a new chat-message is received. And i think you have
 enabled this option?!
