 hm. before sudo make install you should extract custom_user_icons.tar.gz
 to pidgin-2.4.1/pidgin/pixmaps/emblems/16/, have you done this?

 xstatus message text & note isn't implemented in this patch, so you can't
 get/set x-messages & x-notes. i don't have time to dig in oscar :( waiting
 for another programmer souls... ;)

 bug really exists :) i'll take a look at this asap.

 no icons in "Set custom icon" dialog irritates me too, i'll take a look at
 this as soon as bug gets fixed. petr.odut, thanks a lot for participation.

 btw, why not to include x-status support in release? maybe developers are
 writing their own full-featured x-status support? but i hadn't found any
 ticket about this... :(
