 I registered just so I could comment on this ticket.  I know that this
 issue has been discussed at great length, but I'd still like to voice my
 opinion, even if the ticket has already been marked "wontfix".

 I also miss the ability to manually resize the text input area.  It seems
 unreasonable to not include this as an option.  Please include this as an
 option. In the meantime, I guess I'll just have to use funpidgin or
 trillian.
