 I use Google Talk and AIM, so Pidgin works great for me. However, I would
 like to put up a status message without setting my away message. There are
 times that I want to be away with a message, but most of the time, I want
 to display what I am doing without being away. (hope that makes sense)

 The newest version of AIM allows it and Google Talk has it as well. It is
 not stopping me from using it, just a sweet feature.
