 I recently experienced this error message, and by a process of
 elimination, I have found that the new version of AVG 8 has a "feature" as
 part of their "Instant Messaging" Web Shield component.

 Workaround to use MSN:
 open AVG8; select Tools > Advanced Settings;
 Select "+" on Web Shield;
 Select Instant Messaging;
 Untick "Enable Instant Messaging Sheild".


 If you need a copy of AVG8 for testing purposes, just ask!
