Comment (by dave1g):

 Ticket #5616 (new patch) "purple_markup_html_to_xhtml parses some
 attributes incorectly"  and Ticket #2552 (new defect) "HTML logging
 closing apostrophe in span style tag written in incorrect location" might
 be related to this.
