 I can confirm that gaim worked - when switching to pidgin it stopped
 working. Also disabling auto-join on the chat entry in the buddy list -
 restarting pidgin - and double clicking works.

 Version 2.4.1 is still broken (running the Debian 2.4.1-1+b1)
