 No, I amare of no such projects. A number of people have written small
 buddy lists in things like python (using the pidgin dbus api) and the like
 though. Also Sean wrote an icon-view buddy list for easier usage on
 devices like the Nokia handhelds (though I don't know if that actually
 exists anywhere other than his machine). As I've said in other places, I
 think there are things that pidgin should do to make as much of the buddy
 list 'window' code separate from the buddy list view code so that
 alternative buddy list views could be put in the same window with less
 effort.
