 Does this happen when your buddy list is focused or when your conversation
 window is focused? Is whichever of those windows that is focused near the
 edge of your screen? Is the file transfer window being placed on top of
 that window? If the answer to an appropriate set of the above questions is
 yes then I'm going to guess that this is the horrible automagic dialog
 transient parenting code we accepted a little while back. Code which I
 think desperately needs to be ripped out of pidgin as it causes stupid
 things like this to happen.
