Comment:

 Pidgin doesn't support reading SOCK5 proxy information from gnome, it only
 supports getting a HTTP proxy.  I'd like to get that changed at some
 point, but that is a different issue than the crashing problem.

 I think this is the same thing as #5504.

 Please follow the

 see where the real problem lies.
