Comment:

 The leakage when changing wallpaper is a long running issue.  I'm pretty
 sure there has been an upstream bug for it for a long time (I can't find
 it right now).  I tried to track it down at one point, but wasn't able to
 recreate it.  For the foreseeable future, this is going to be in the
 category of "don't do it."
