#6489: Segfault on Load

---------------------+------------------------------------------------------
 When Pidgin loaded in '''Fedora Core 7''', I got a `segfault` error.
 Running from a terminal displays this log (from startup to shutdown,
 omitting generic "please report to developers" bit):
 {{{
 libnm_glib_nm_state_cb: dbus returned an error.
   (org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown) The name
 org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files
 Pidgin 2.4.1-1.fc7 has segfaulted and attempted to dump a core file.
 This is a bug in the software and has happened through
 no fault of your own.
 }}}
 I believe this may also be an issue with the application in Windows, as
 I've had difficulties with it behaving in the same manner under
 '''WinXP''' (though I have been unable to perform a log trace as I did in
 Linux). I have installed, in both Linux and Windows, extensions to provide
 '''Facebook''' and '''MyspaceIM''' capability. These may be the
 originators of the segfault issue, but I haven't had the opportunity to
 test. It is an unpredictable issue, and the app can run perfectly for
 several days or die repeatedly within a few minutes. Not sure how to
 reliably reproduce.

 Note: I recognize that this is not listed as the most recent release, as I
 have '''2.4.1''' on Linux and will see about upgrading to 2.4.3. However,
 I believe I am running the most recent version in WinXP where it is also
 failing. If upgrading fixes this in Linux, I will amend the ticket.
