Comment:

 Yes, the .purple directory (the .purple directory lives
 [http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/Using%20Pidgin#Whereismy.purpledirectory
 here] on Windows)can be shared between instances without any problems.
 Simply place it in a location they can both read from and write to (or
 copy it back and forth as needed).
