 I'm using Pidgin 2.4.3. I think Pidgin uses gtkspell nowadays? Gtkspell
 2.0.13 supports all spell-checkers supported by enchant library, but it
 seems Pidgin doesn't work properly with other than aspell. All words are
 red-lined for me using fi_FI.UTF-8 (Finnish), with no suggestions.
 Libenchant-voikko and the rest are installed, and spell-checking via
 Inkscape and Tomboy is working properly - they use gtkspell too.

 Only if I install aspell-fi, which is a very poor spell-checker for
 Finnish, I get some of the words accepted.

 Enchant, Voikko and gtk-spell 2.0.13 are in Debian (testing/unstable),
 Fedora (9 and rawhide), Mandriva (cooker) and Ubuntu (intrepid), so it can
 be tested by installing those and launching Pidgin with LANG=fi_FI.UTF-8.
