 Here is the information I was able to glean from aspell itself:

 Here is what I get from Gentoo (using paludis):

 So yes, both aspell and aspell-en are installed, aspell version 0.60.6 and
 aspell-en version 6.0.0.  I also attached the output of aspell config if
 that will help.
