as well?
Here is the information I was able to glean from aspell itself:
{{{
$ aspell -v
@(#) International Ispell Version 3.1.20 (but really Aspell 0.60.6)
}}}
Here is what I get from Gentoo (using paludis):
{{{
$ paludis -q aspell
* app-text/aspell
gentoo: 0.50.5-r4 0.60.5 0.60.6 {:0}
installed: 0.60.6* {:0}
Description: A spell checker replacement for ispell

Relevant USE flags: (-examples) (gpm) (nls)
License: LGPL-2
Installed time: Wed Aug 6 17:55:01 2008
Source repository: gentoo
Installed using: paludis-0.28.1
$ paludis -q aspell-en
* app-dicts/aspell-en
gentoo: 0.51.0 0.51.1 6.0.0 {:0}
installed: 6.0.0* {:0}
Description: English (US, British, Canadian) language
dictionary for aspell

}}}
So yes, both aspell and aspell-en are installed, aspell version 0.60.6 and
aspell-en version 6.0.0. I also attached the output of aspell config if
that will help.
