Comment:

 I change the font via pidgin preference settings. Yes, it turns gray in
 the conversation history area. My friends see my preferred font and color.
 So if I type in Segoe Print and the type is pink, my friends see it that
 way but once it hits the history area it changes back to Sans and turns
 gray. However, the formatting on my friend's typing does not turn gray or
 change font.
