 OK, so Pidgin was working fine (my system is a Windows XP/SP2) until it
 started freezing. So I looked through the tickets and apparently GTK+ was
 messing it up, so I downgraded from 2.12.8 to 2.12.1. It was fine; the
 "mosaic error" as described in #5662 no longer was appearing. Then it
 started freezing, but differently. I checked my Task Manager and
 apparently it was running over 100-136MB every time it froze, which would
 be about two hours in, depending on how "heavy" conversation between me
 and my friends were.

 I duplicated the error by sending a large number of messages to myself in
 a short period of time.

 I use AIM and MSN only. My GTK+ version is 2.12.1.  My plug-ins are

 statenotify.dll
 and
 timestamp_format.dll
