 Update on this bug: I noticed it only happens when I am "idle" (I have
 idle set to be based on when my last message was sent).
 I have it set to "go away on idle" and in combination with Iconify on
 away, it shrinks pidgin even when I attempt to set "available."

 Suggested fix: Remove idle status when user manually selects "available"
