 I could see the away message on mouseover, but it was not visible when I
 right-clicked and chose "Get Info". I have only tried 2.5.0 on Windows, so
 I do not know if this is across the board.

 As I'm sure you can imagine, this is a bit frustrating, especially since
 for some reason mousing over one of my buddies caused Pidgin to crash
 repeatedly. (Only that one person, and their status turned out to be just
 "Away".)

 I've now gone back to 2.4.3, since it works just fine.
