 Got it :)

 In Pidgin, add the attached certificate (Tools menu).
 I got the certificate by opening https://rsi.hotmail.com/ in Firefox and
 exporting the certificate. Surely there are better ways to solve this
 problem but hey.. Offline messages are working for MSN! :)
