#6723: Cannot Connect to MSN

 MSN fails to connect to the server through html or the normal way. This
 problems started around the first of august in 2.4.3 but continued to be
 an issue in 2.4.3
 Connection error from Notification server: Reading error

 OS: Gentoo linux (up to date with linux-2.6.24-gentoo-r8 kernel

 I compiled 2.5.0 with ./configure --disable-avahi --disable-nm
 I also have a vista computer on my network that connects without any
 problems.

 My initial thought was some protocol change in MSN, but maybe it is some
 package on gentoo that is blocking it.
