 I can confirm this bug.

 When sending offline messages to arbitrary contacts, i get the german
 error message "Kann die Nachricht nicht senden: Server unerreichbar" which
 translates to "Cannot send the message: Server unavailable" and the
 message does not arrive (tested the latter with only one contact).

 It is present since today (23.08.2008) and when testing with the messenger
 SIM and the same contact, that contact would not receive my message,
 either (however no error message is thrown in SIM).

 I would guess they changed the protocol.
