 Yes, same issue with pidgin 2.4.3 or 2.5.0

 the message is this one (using en_US): Unable to send message: Service
 unavailable.

 $ uname -or 2.6.24-19-generic GNU/Linux

 Yes, it looks like another tiny protocol change.
