 i'd actually prefer the list method and i like the miranda style of
 handling the privacy list. actually, it seems as if the privacy list is
 stored serverside. the same is with the ignore list. maybe you could use
 the current privacy window to implement the ignore list at first.
 for the invisible list i've got an idea. add a "field" (maybe called
 isVisible or something) for every UIN the user has in his list, and a
 dialog to manage those.
 in the management dialog for invisible users, the list may be created by
 parsing all isVisible fields of all the contacts being in the list.
 just a few ideas, and thinking loud ;-)

 so please let me know if somethings impossible or possible. i'm really
 looking forward to contribute, but i'm totally new to pidgins source and i
 guess i need a total overview how things are handled and stored :(
