 You can't add buddies to the list with full jids (including the resource)
 so no that wouldn't work. And it is exactly this sort of thing which makes
 this a complicated scenario.

 Ideally the clients and the server are supposed to work together to
 determine where it would be best to deliver a message addressed to the
 bare jid (without a resource) and then the clients (last I knew) were
 supposed to direct further messages to the full jid that responded to
 them. Some servers, like Google Talk, deliver messages to all connected
 clients that are equally available and let the user decide what to do
 about answering it, but some pick a single client to send to.

 If Google Talk is sending messages directed to a full jid to other full
 jids then, unless I am mistaken and I would need to double check to be
 sure, they are acting decidedly oddly and possibly even actively
 incorrectly.
